In a not-too-distant future, people own personal cleaners called Intronauts; miniaturised human workers injected into their bodies in order to carry out essential maintenance.
What could possibly go wrong?
In the company’s 40th year, Green Ginger has created its 21st original piece of theatre, called Intronauts. This co-production with Nordland Visual Theatre has been devised by the company and directed by Emma Williams, featuring an original score composed by Simon Preston. Intronauts is available for worldwide touring throughout 2019-20.
WHAT IS INTRONAUTS ABOUT?
Green Ginger’s new show will propel audiences into a microscopic journey deep within the human body. It tells a madcap story about advancing technology, big syringes and a tiny submarine. Taking its cue from classic sci-fi movies and fueled by absurd visual comedy and innovative puppetry, Intronauts offers an intoxicating innerbody experience that really gets under the skin.
WHO IS IT AIMED AT?
Intronauts is aimed at grown-up teenagers and childish adults. Over 40 years, Green Ginger has honed its craft in the creation of darkly comic shows that have a political heart, but do not preach; performances that can touch raw nerves and disturb minds, yet thoroughly entertain its audiences. Intronauts deals with such diverse topics as nano-technology, the invasion of personal space & the dangers of self-medication.
